Shaila Sharmin has worked in the Bangladesh ISP industry for more than eight years in a number of WiMax and FTTX Broadband service providers. A seasoned Operations Engineer and Management professional in the field of IP CORE/ Enterprise network and her expertise is focused on core Infrastructure and network security for both service provider and enterprise networks.
At present, she is working at OneICT. Prior to her current role, she has served as Senior Core Network Engineer, in a pioneer WiMAX company named Banglalion Communications Ltd and Assistant Manager at Link3 Technology Limited, a nationwide ISP in Bangladesh.
Career History[edit | edit source]
Shaila volunteers as an EC member of bdNOG and is a regular speaker of several NOG and technical conferences in the AP region. She is a former fellow of ICANN, IETF, APRICOT and SANOG.
Education[edit | edit source]
Shaila is a computer science graduate and also received her master's degree in the same subject. She also has a number of vendor certifications.
Interest[edit | edit source]
She is interested in IPv6, Routing and Switching, Cyber Security, Network Security, Access and Empowerment, Internet Governance & technical Policy.
