dotSaarland GmbH, also known as NIC.Saarland, is a member of dotSaarland e.V. [2] , a non-profit organization based in St. Ingbert and operator of the .saarland geographical TLD through ICANN's New gTLD Program. It was established in 2011. Alexander Siffrin serves as CEO of the company.[1]

The company confirmed that its application for the .saarland string was submitted to ICANN on May 30, 2012 supported by the Federal State of Saarland and its parent organization, dotSaarland eV, Saarland Chamber of Commerce (IHK) and the Chamber of Crafts (HWK Saarland).[2]
