Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) manages the .bw ccTLD for Botswana and manages the WHOIS service for the domains. As of February 2021, there are 70 registrars and 10,000 registered domains in the ccTLD.[1] BOCRA recently proposed three new second-level domains: me.bw, shop.bw, and agric.bw.[2]

The ccTLD was initially managed by the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation, with the University of Botswana as the sponsoring organization for the ccTLD.[3] In 2013, BOCRA assumed registry operations for the .bw domain.[3]
