Xavier J. Calvez is the Senior Vice President, Planning and Finance of ICANN. As the Chief Financial Officer, he leads teams charged as the stewards of ICANN's public funds, financial accountability, and transparency. Xavier’s team manages finance, procurement, strategic and operational planning, implementation operations, and risk management to provide integrated operational support for responsible decision-making. He was appointed by the ICANN Board on September 17, 2011.[1]

Xavier brings two decades of international experience in strategic planning, financial reporting, analysis, and modeling in France and the US. Before joining ICANN in 2011, Xavier held progressive leadership positions in finance at Technicolor, ultimately serving as CFO for Technicolor Creative Services. In that role, he oversaw finance during a major transformation of systems implementation, reorganization, and process improvements for a diversified group of businesses worldwide. Xavier’s areas of expertise include strategic, operational, and financial planning and reporting, auditing, tax compliance, corporate business development, mergers and acquisitions, and operating management. He has also worked with audit and financial clients from the Paris and Miami offices of KPMG and Deloitte.

Career History

Before joining ICANN, Calvez worked for Technicolor as Chief Financial Officer of the company's Network Services Division. He served the company for nine years. Calvez has also worked for KPMG (France), Deloitte and Inter-M Corporation.[2]

During his previous careers, Calvez gained extensive experience in finance and corporate management for both domestic and international corporations. He established a reputation within the financial industry as an effective chief finance officer capable of implementing strategies that help boost a company's profitability. He is an expert in strategic planning, financial reporting and modeling, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, management dashboards, and finance systems implementation.[3] [4]

Education

Mr. Calvez holds a degree in Finance & Accounting from Université de Bretagne Occidentale and a Masters in Business, Finance & Accounting from Université du Maine Le Mans-Laval. He is an Expert Compatable Memorialiste (equivalent to the United States CPA) and fluent in English and French.
