CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) or National Research Council is a public organization that aims to carry out, promote, spread, transfer and improve research activities in the main sectors of knowledge growth and of its applications for the scientific, technological, economic and social development of Italy.[1]

IIT (Instituto di Informatica e Telematica or Institute of Informatics and Telematics)

While CNR encompasses many fields of research, its Institute of Informatics and Telematics, or IIT, carries out research, assessment, technology transfer and training in the field of Information and Communication Technologies and of Computational Sciences, which includes issues and growth related to the internet and internet governance.[2]
