Internauta is a non-profit civil association based in Argentina, founded by Internet users, professionals in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and social actors from diverse backgrounds who recognized the transformative impact of the Internet on culture and communication.
The organization advocates for inclusive participation, national technological development, and equitable access to information. It supports state and civil society initiatives aimed at strengthening values such as integrity, dignity, and self-determination. Internauta promotes the open development and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people in Argentina and encourages a collaborative network among Internet users.
Internauta serves as a platform for discussion, debate, and participation, aiming to foster creative engagement among individuals connected through the Internet.[1]

Internauta began operating informally on January 12, 1999, responding to solidarity-based initiatives and addressing challenges related to ICT access and policy in Argentina. It was officially established as a non-governmental organization (NGO) on October 29, 2001, and registered as a non-profit civil association under registry number 23.307 and file number 1/101.693. In its early years, the organization focused on expanding its presence nationwide by establishing regional branches. [1]
