The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) is a forum for the European Union and the United States to coordinate approaches to global trade, economic, and technology issues and to deepen transatlantic trade and economic relations based on shared democratic values. It was established in June 2021. On September 29, the TTC's inaugural meeting took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The meeting chartered several working groups and defined short-term goals. The TTC's Joint Declaration outlined five key areas of interest: export controls, foreign direct investment screening, secure supply chains (especially regarding semiconductors), technology standards (including data/artificial intelligence/privacy), and Global trade challenges.[1]
