Brandon Gray Internet Services, a Canadian company trading under the names of “Domain Renewal Group”, “Domain Registry of America” and “NameJuice” has been harvesting the publically available Whois database in order to collect domain owners’ personal details. The company then sends an official looking letter that is deliberately designed to appear as an invoice. The letters are usually received by domain owners a few months before their domain name is about to expire - a precess known as domain slamming.
